Job Description:
You’ll be tasked mainly with editing blog and on-site content for both the Emjay and Saucey websites. We’re looking for someone who has an interest in the cannabis and alcohol industries, or who can fake it really well (we have fun here). Ideally, you will be publishing all of our content with an eye for SEO while ensuring it is factually accurate and fits within our tone of voice. This position will report into the Content and Communications Manager.
To excel in this role, you will be communicative, data-driven, and open to growing your strategies while working alongside another editor.
Experience editing or writing content on a tool like WordPress is a must.
- Proofread and edit for spelling, factual accuracy, grammar, and syntax
- Organize, modify, and update existing content with an eye towards search optimization
- Design published blog posts on WordPress sites
- Collaborate with co-workers to optimize SEO strategies
- Help schedule blog content with eye towards SEO trends in each industry
- Knowledge of English grammar with an understanding of how to inject tone into writing (or when to point out that piece is lacking in it)
- Knowledge of SEO and industry best practices
- Knowledge of how to use a tool like WordPress to design blog posts with an eye towards conversion and search engine optimization
- Good communication skills
- Good organizational skills
