Nabis is looking for a talented Senior Accountant depending on experience level to join our exceptional and motivated team, help us continue our rapid growth, and create a better way forward for our customers. The Senior Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations across all aspects of the business. This role will be very hands-on and play an integral part in all aspects of accounting operations and a wide variety of projects as we scale. In this position on our Finance team, you will report to the Assistant Controller and will be key in helping develop and scale the Accounting function. As an early member of the Finance team, this individual will have an opportunity to work on various projects and have exposure to executives. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual who loves working in a fast-paced environment and is excited about the cannabis industry.
- Improve upon and own the accounts payable, corporate card management, and employee expense processes
- Assist with preparation of monthly reporting package with the ability to provide insight into the flux analysis
- Prepare journal entries and prepare reconciliations for accounts such as benefits, fixed assets, prepaids, accrued expenses, intercompany

- Develop accounting policies & procedures and implement internal controls for areas of responsibility
- Work on other ad hoc tax requirements as needed, including 1099 tax reporting
- Perform review to guarantee accuracy and compliance with GAAP and ensure we are ready for our first-year external audit
- Assist in managing service provider relationships including audit, tax, and outsourced operational and technical accounting
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all payroll reporting
- Support external audit and miscellaneous reporting requirements
- 3 – 4+ years of accounting experience depending on role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Economics, or equivalent practical experience
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Advanced problem solving, analytical, and Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Understanding of both financial and operational controls
- Lead and support process improvement and digital transformation initiatives and projects
- A growth mindset curious, adaptable, loves learning & growth, open to change, and ability to pivot
- Must pass background check
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Experience with Quickbooks and AR/AP-related software vendors
- CPA or progress towards one
- Public accounting experience
- Excited to work in the Cannabis industry with a strong drive for learning
