Sunderstorm is looking for a passionate, highly motivated, and hard working individual to help assist the Edibles R&D department. The R&D Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to compounding, cooking, processing, cleaning and re-assembling machines related to the Edibles R&D department.
None.
- Organize and prepare raw ingredients, tools, candy molds etc
- Cook trial runs that follow standard cooking SOP procedures
- Maintain and clean all equipment, tools etc
- Demold and sugar (process) R&D trials within standard processing times in regular production
- Package R&D samples for surveys/testing
- Uphold workplace to food safety standards
- Must be age 21 or over - California residency with valid ID is required
- 1+ years of experience researching, developing, and creating new products strongly preferred.
- Must have cooking experience
- Must be comfortable with testing products to ensure standards are met.
- Great communication skills, positive attitude, trustworthy, dependable, accountable for own actions, motivating team members, able to delegate minor tasks, and able to receive constructive criticism.
- Must be able to time manage, multitask, organize, attention to details, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to details, good attitude, and dependability.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours, leaning over and lifting bins, must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Food/Confectionery Science or related field
- Experience working with baked goods.
- Experience being a part of focus groups for product launches.
- Up to date food handler’s certification
- Preferred but not required experience in the cannabis industry
- Update Monday.com, Google Sheets, and Telegram channels.
- Basic personal computer skills including email, word processing, etc
- Ability to stand for 8 hours, leaning over and lifting bins
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
