Job Description:

This is a temporary position anticipated to be six months in duration. This position performs cannabis regulatory sample collection under the Minnestoa Industrial Hemp Development Act (Minnesota Statutes 18K). The regional area of focus is Twin Cities Metro area. One (1) year of experience in field survey and data collection or regulatory work in an agricultural or environmental program. NOTE: A bachelor’s degree in biology, agronomy, horticulture, entomology, botany, plant pathology, ecology, natural resource management or a related field may substitute one year of experience. A good understanding of plant biology and valid survey procedures. Intermediate level expertise in computer usage. Skill in communications, planning and problem solving to be effective in maintaining a wide diversity of working relations and situations. Ability to organize and execute field activities and communicate findings with program staff. Ability to keep detailed records. The ability to celebrate diversity and a strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment. A bachelor’s degree in biology, agronomy, horticulture, entomology, botany, plant pathology, ecology, natural resource management or a related field. More than two (2) years of experience in field survey and data collection or regulatory work in an agricultural or environmental program. Experience with sample collection using a mobile data management solution. Technical knowledge of cannabis production and plant morphology. Geographical Information System (GIS) knowledge. Experience in enforcement of state or other regulations, such as investigation of alleged violations. Background or experience with using personnel protective equipment and following safety guidelines. This position requires successful
