We are on a mission to be the most trusted and loved brand in Cannabis. As a Genetics Operations Manager (GOM), you will play a highly collaborative role within a scientifically diverse R&D team. The purpose of the role is to ensure seamless execution of the molecular breeding (MB) projects. The GOM will provide logistical and technical support for the marker assisted germplasm development plan and collaborate with the Breeding, Genomics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Process Development teams. This individual will be responsible for bringing improved productivity to the R&D Teams by improving efficiency of logistics and overall execution of MB projects. Manage molecular breeding projects, including autonomously translating project plans and decisions into executable actions and ensuring seamless and timely execution and completion of these actions. - Draft nursery and crosses planting lists. - Work with appropriate lab, breeding and nursery staff to effectively schedule projects in the laboratory, greenhouse and field - Construct tissue sampling template maps for marker projects.

Job Requirements:

- Coordinate and execute tissue sampling of projects. - Responsible for collecting, entering and maintaining data from the greenhouse and field, and making progress report to Genomics/Breeding team in a timely and accurate manner. - Supporting efforts to maintain integrity of seed inventory, packaging, layout, pollinating, harvesting, and data collection. - Prioritize and coordinate tissue/DNA shipments. Obtain phytosanitary certificates as required. - Maintain integrity of the database. Run replication and reconciliation software. - Serve as a member of the research team to achieve all objectives and milestones for each defined project. - Coordinate with other research personnel and projects. - Supervise seasonal employees to carry out field operations such as planting, pollinations, harvesting, harvesting and shipping. - Manage other field and/or greenhouse testing as needed. - Perform all tasks and behave in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety related company policies and practices. - Collaboratively analyze and solve technical problems. - Remain current on changing protocols. - Manage day-to-day operations such as preparation of common laboratory stocks, inventory control/ordering of consumables and oversight of lab equipment in collaboration with the Genomics - Maintain professionalism and live CCA’s core values of Teamwork, Innovation, Integrity and Process at all times - Perform all other duties as assigned or inherent to the position - Experience building and refining processes, as the company grows - Past experience in startups is preferred - MSc or BS with 3-5 years’ experience in molecular biology, genetics, plant biology or related discipline. - Understanding of plant anatomy and plant development. - Knowledge of one or several specific crop(s) and their breeding. - Knowledge of and experience with
