Job Description:
The Extraction Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the Goodblend Pennsylvania Extraction Lab and laboratory employees to produce the highest possible quality concentrates and oils. The position must be proficient with various extraction methods and capable of operating and maintaining extraction equipment and machinery. The position requires management, training, development, and coaching of a team of technicians. The manager is additionally responsible for light reporting duties and use of seed-to-sale tracking software to accurately and compliantly maintain inventory.
This role is with Goodblend
- Uphold the highest standard of safety and compliance within the lab and enforce the same standard among direct reports
- Perform or oversee day-to-day extraction and production processes of distilled oils, waxes, resins and other concentrates
- Accurately track production and use of raw materials and finished goods and coordinate with the cultivation, kitchen, and inventory managers to ensure efficient use and production of materials and finished products
- Coordinate the ordering of laboratory materials or supplies with shared services
- Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment with shared services
- Training, coaching, and counseling of Laboratory Technicians, including administering periodic assessments, recognitions or corrective actions
- Creating and adherence to a weekly production schedule that meets the needs of the retail operation
- Research, development, and implementation of new or improved processes or products to ensure we remain competitive within the market
- Adhere to Parallel's Employee Handbook and Policies & Procedures
- Additional duties as assigned
- Minimum of 2 years' experience cannabis experience required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with Hydrocarbon and Ethanol extraction and refinement
- Minimum of 6 months experience managing or supervising people
- Cross functional collaboration with cultivation and production
- Comfortable and able to work with and around hazardous flammable liquids and pressurized equipment
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology Science, or another related field preferred
- Ability to focus and remain task oriented in a laboratory setting
- Ability to work as a team member, managing direct reports, working with management group peers, and reporting to higher-ups as requested
- Age 21 or over (Required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Valid Government-Issued Photo ID (Required)
