Lab Director (Massachusetts)

Laboratory Director: We are in search of an experienced lab director that seeks a challenging position leading an independent testing laboratory serving the medical/adult-use cannabis industry. The laboratory director will be responsible for all aspects of lab operations. Initial responsibilities will include laboratory setup, validation, talent recruitment, and training. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Overseeing laboratory design and build-out - Overseeing equipment installation and procurement - Executing method validation and developing validation reports - Maintaining analytical equipment (i.e. HPLC, GC-MSMS, LCMSMS, ICP-MS, qPCR analytical balances, autoclave, centrifuge, biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, etc.) - Inventory management - Data entry - Final review of data - Generation and issuance of Certificate of Analysis - Ensuring compliance with laboratory policies and procedures, state regulations, and ISO-17025 quality management system - Client relations - Managing staff (i.e. assigning duties, creating schedule, performing employee reviews) Minimum Qualifications: - A bachelor’s degree in a biological science and a minimum of 4 years post-degree laboratory experience related to testing of medicinal or pharmaceutical products or other experience as approved by the Department or - A master’s level degree in a chemical or biological science and a minimum of 2 years post-degree laboratory experience related to testing of medicinal or pharmaceutical products or other experience as approved by the Department or - A doctorate of science or an equivalent degree in chemistry, biology, or a sub-discipline of chemistry or biology. - Appropriate experience with HPLC-PDA/UV, HPLC-MS/MS, GC-MS, and/or ICP-MS - Flexibility to
