Job Description:
- Oversee day to day laboratory operations;
- a general supervisor (high complexity testing) is available to provide day-to-day supervision of all testing personnel and reporting of test results as well as provide on-site supervision for specific minimally qualified testing personnel when they are performing high complexity testing;
- Proper documentation and compliance of ISO/IEC 17025:2015 standard and Arizona State laws;
- Ensure turnaround times of lab results for customers;
- Have a high degree of knowledge and troubleshooting of analytical and testing methods including: LC/UV, LC/QQQ, ICP/MS, GC/MS, qPCR, and microbial plating;
- Validation of analytical methods for high throughput testing;
- Assist Laboratory Director in method development and additional R&D activities;
- Perform calibrations and routine maintenance of analytical instrumentation as needed;
- Perform data review and data analysis utilizing validated analytical methods;
- Assist in training programs relating to analytical instrumentation and data analysis;
- Demonstrate ability to multitask and prioritize projects efficiently in a high throughput environment;
- Maintain a safe, clean, well-organized, and efficient laboratory work environment;
- Assist in maintaining/developing SOPs and documentation required for compliance as needed;
- Assist in maintaining the laboratory for ISO accreditation standards, GLP and future audits;
- Organize daily work activities by priorities;
- Maintain clean and safe work environment by maintaining aseptic methods and protocols; following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
- Develop new methods not currently online at the laboratory and write standard operating procedures for them in conjunction with state regulations.
- Follow strict Quality Assurance operations according to state regulations
- Maintain a safe, clean and sanitary work area.
- Follow GLPs and GMPs.
- Work well, professionally, and effectively lead staff;
- testing systems in the laboratory provide quality services in all aspects of test performance, i.e., the preanalytic, analytic, and postanalytic phases of testing;
- physical and environmental conditions of the laboratory are adequate and appropriate for the testing performed;
- the environment for employees is safe from physical, chemical, and biological hazards and safety and biohazard requirements are followed;
- sufficient numbers of appropriately educated, experienced, and/or trained personnel who provide appropriate consultation, properly supervise, and accurately perform tests and report test results in accordance with the written duties and responsibilities specified by you, are employed by the laboratory;
- new test procedures are reviewed, included in the procedure manual and followed by personnel; and
- each employee’s responsibilities and duties are specified in writing.

- BS in Analytical chemistry or related discipline. 5 years’ experience in similar fields and techniques may exempt from degree.
- Lab Management Experience
- Strong GC and/or ICP experience with operation and maintenance
- Experience with Agilent equipment
- Mass Spectrometry experience
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Proven organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to formulate and clearly communicate ideas, both verbally and in writing.
