Job Description:
The Inventory Specialist position manages location inventory through database and maintains levels required on a daily basis. This is accomplished by actively performing appropriate day-to-day activities as needed in alignment with the business unit’s goals and needs. The Inventory Specialist oversees inventory for all locations. This includes but is not limited to managing METRC, overseeing all product intake teams, product levels, product types and product organization. He or she must work closely with Inventory Manager to ensure inventory compliance digitally through METRC as well as physically in all locations. He or she must work closely with the Department Heads to ensure SOP’s are being adhered to for all product intake teams to ensure compliance. This person must then work with department management teams to train product teams on SOP’s and oversee their successful implementation.
Finally, this position is ultimately responsible for compliant inventory practices both in METRC and in all locations. This person must adhere to the regulations concerning medical and adult use cannabis put forth by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.
Along with ongoing development of your job description, immediate responsibilities for the role of Inventory Specialist include:
- Enter data for quantities issued and transferred between locations, inventory and cycle count adjustments, into computer database.
- Receive and issue finished goods into computer database.
- Training management on appropriate processes and follow up to ensure deliveries are handled within compliance
- Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with appropriate personnel.
- Record and monitor all items with shelf-life as needed and notify appropriate personnel when material is close to expiration

Job Requirements:
monthly inventory by running a report in METRC and working with dispensary manager to make sure all counts are accurately documented
- On site for month end inventory to ensure accuracy
- Assess month end inventory and sends off follow up re counts to the dispensary, on items in question
- Issue daily inventory counts and perform random inventory audits
- Prepare and participate in month, quarterly and yearly virtual related inventory.
- Utilize inventory tracking system to streamline our business operations
- Communicate with Inventory Manager about current stock and potential issues with orders
- Report on inventory activities and variances
- Works with department managers to ensure all product labelling is in compliance and meets regulatory requirements when it is received and when it is sold
- Investigate discrepancies of sales receipts and inventory variances
- Trouble shoot items that will not scan
- Works closely with store managers, general manager, and product intake teams to make sure there is product consistency and pricing across all dispensary locations
- Alerts the General Manager when inventory is not moving in order to facilitate promotional sales to move inventory
