Job Description:
The company is a publicly traded holding company operating and investing in innovative companies and emerging industries. The company currently manages a portfolio of investments in the medical/recreational cannabis; industrial hemp; renewable energy; and alcoholic beverages industries.
The Interim CFO will be a key business partner to the CEO and senior management team in the development and execution of the company’s strategic and financial plans. This is an exciting assignment for a seasoned finance leader who loves working in high-impact, fast growth and entrepreneurial organizations. The ideal candidate will be someone who is equally comfortable pivoting between a hands-on tactical role and a high-level strategic role with ease.
Though the Interim CFO’s primary responsibilities will encompass all financial elements of the organization, including establishing and adapting the financial vision and long-term objectives, it will be his/her ability to help bring the company into profitability that will be a distinguishing factor. Also critical to this role is ensuring relationships between departments

are collaborative and constructive and supporting the development and execution of plans on a quarterly and annual basis.
Expectations within the first 90 days:
- Build a robust finance and accounting foundation from scratch while simultaneously managing the day-to-day finance and core accounting functions (i.e., financial planning and analysis, cash management, credit and collections, quarterly and annual plan preparation, audit, creation of SOP manual for accounting policy and regulations, SOX/SEC reporting, etc.).
- Create appropriate metrics/KPIs that provide forward-looking views into trends within the industries in which the company operates.
- Serve as the primary interface to the audit committee and Board of Directors.
- Develop both the short-term and long-term capital plan for the business, including evaluating current/future projects, prioritizing projects to create long-term value, and establishing the overall financial structure to support current liquidity requirements and the need to fund long term growth.
Qualifications:
- - Previous experience as a CFO preferred but not mandatory. Strong #2’sin an existing company’s finance department who have a track record of achievement and a hunger for impact will also be considered.
- - Robust experience developing and implementing financial and strategic plans from scratch.
- - Previous experience working in a public company would be an advantage, but not mandatory.
- - Industry experience a plus but not mandatory
This is an interim role, however, for the right candidate there is potential to be permanent, providing there is interest on both sides (candidate and client.)
