We are looking for a driven individual to support our hemp cultivation operation in Alameda County. Candidate(s) for this “Farm Hand” position will be motivated, friendly, and passionate team members who assist in day-to-day operations throughout the cultivation space. This is a person who has a proven track record of hard work and thoroughly enjoys working outdoors in a farm atmosphere. A passion for farm work coupled with a strong adherence to protocol is required for this role.
Train for and learn while on-the-job several dynamic roles at the farm to meet day-to-day objectives: assisting the team with cultivation operations and adhering to and facilitating safety measures at all times.
Maintain an overall clean and organized environment to benefit fellow staff members.
Assist and support team members with laborious farm tasks; bring positivity and proactivity in all day-to-day matters.
Work 40-60 hours per week outdoors in the sun, wind and elements.
Scout the field and inform managers of crop health and development.
Record information throughout the cultivation season such as: pesticide use; yield and inputs/costs; pest and disease pressures; etc.
Apply pesticides and/or herbicides.
Assist with operating and repairing irrigation equipment: digging in heavy and wet dirt, getting thoroughly wet, walking for hours while conducting repairs and installations.
Operate farm machinery.
Adhere to and promote a culture of compliance as it pertains to State and company standards.
Transport trash and waste to the disposal area; be trash-negative.

Job Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age and the ability to pass live scan fingerprinting and regulatory background check
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Proven organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license and personal transportation.
Be willing to travel at times (reimbursed).
Ability to stand, sit, or conduct manual labor for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in outdoor heat, sun and strong winds.
Interest in agriculture.
Must be comfortable with lifting heavy material.
Ability to effectively communicate with staff members and managers.
Efficacy with technology and inventory tracking systems.
Takes initiative and works well independently.
Able to meet goals under tight time constraints.
Ability to communicate well with team and management.
Managing time and respecting protocol under outdoor farming conditions are a must.
“Handiness”: skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or similar trades is a big plus
