Extraction Manager - Cannabis

Veltiste Wellness is an ambitious cannabis start-up led by industry veterans, with multiple licenses in Michigan, Illinois, and Missouri. We are seeking an Extraction Manager to oversee all production, quality assurance, operations, and training for the Extraction Department. - Oversee and support the setup and operation of the extraction lab with a solid understanding of the equipment and inventory used for production. - Operate and manage the high-throughput progression of product through winterization, filtration, and distillation of the resulting crude oil using thin film distillate systems, and finally isolation. - Manage end-to-end extraction activities ensuring all deliverables are met. - Standardization of extraction methods and systems that deliver world class product capability with the goal of minimizing cost, increasing productivity, upholding quality, and consistency. - Develop, update, and enforce SOPs to promote best lab practices. - Maintain records of all raw and WIP materials, finished products, and by-product in seed-to-sale tracking system METRC and SAP. - Create new and improved product formulations. - Develop workflow optimization and schedules ensuring high-quality yields. - Interview, hire, and train required extraction laboratory personnel to keep up with production requirements. - Ability to resolve any conflict respectfully and in a timely manner, addressing and resolving problems to create a culture of engagement and high-performance. - Define and implement KPIs to maximize manufacturing performance in key areas including safety, quality, output, and costs. - Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field preferred. - Two years of extraction laboratory experience. - One year of leadership or management experience.
