Job Description:
The laboratory scientist is responsible and accountable for the testing, quality control, and tracking of medical cannabis material. Ensures the safe, accurate, and timely testing of cannabis products.
This position is for a
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Be at least 21 years old
- Undergo a state and federal background check
- (1) Completed 2 years of college; or (2) have two years work experience in a professional medical/clinical/scientific laboratory
- Follow policies and procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with state medical marijuana regulations
- Use of aseptic technique to handle, prepare, and analyze samples
- Develop expertise in sample preparation and testing methods using analytical instrumentation (LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, GCMS)
- Responsible for inventory of supplies and cannabis tracking and destruction
- Responsible for accurate weighing and recording all product weights
- Works in a timely manner and strives to improve quality and maintain accuracy
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned, which may include cannabis sampling, transport, and sample preparation
