Job Description:
- Work with the executive team (reporting to CEO) to develop and hone the overall company strategy, define drivers of growth and set key sales and growth milestones.
- Bring an infectious growth mindset and collaborate seamlessly across functions and at all levels with Marketing, Finance Operations, and others.
- Design and deliver on sales growth objectives with effective planning, organizing and coaching for development and results.
- Build a culture that merges the right blend of the sales art and science.
- Develop goals for distribution, promotion, merchandising, and pricing and ensure these goals are met or exceeded for the state, each territory and for key accounts.
- Advance individual and overall team capabilities with a full toolbelt of sales leadership capabilities such as recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and incentives.
- Develop the sales organization through frequent in-field coaching, focused direction, and sharing of best practices among the team members.
- Develop and implement an account segmentation methodology followed by coverage plans that ensure we meet the needs of all our customers while ensuring key multi-site accounts are fully served.
- Maintain a deep understanding of marketplace needs, dynamics and changing customer needs as well as competitive pressures.
- Make sure every territory and our customers’ needs are understood and that all territories are staffed with effective sales professionals who are assigned the right number of accounts, volume level, and geographical range.
- Develop the optimal administrative functions including roles such as sales admin, brand ambassadors and inside sales/customer service to ensure that administrative duties are met (e.g., ordering, SOPs, CRM, AR and reporting).

- Prior cannabis sales experience a plus
- Implement and direct all sales activities in the region and clearly report all results to peers and leaders.
- Recruit staff as well as train, coach, incentivize, reprimand when necessary and grow a motivating culture of accountability.
- Join calls with the sales team, visit dispensary retailers and forge impactful, trusted relationships with buyers, owners and key decision-makers.
- Build systems that effectively and elegantly monitor and track performance vs goal.
- Help select and support the roll out and launch of CRM and other useful tools.
- Gather, analyze and make sense of data to drive good decisions and business growth.
- Monitor and gain insights from competitive activity and sales; Build systems to analyze sales activities, market conditions and competitive pricing; Review available competitive data and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and represent our company and brands with integrity.
- Make decisions and formulate sales strategies to improve company position and spark growth.
- Set and refine territories by analyzing geographical locations of cannabis retailers, segmenting our customers and aligning with our team’s strengths and capabilities.
- Guide the team to create territory sales plans to achieve regional and overall sales objectives.
- Set priorities and objectives by territory and by retail segments.
- Review performance with the team and ensure targets are achievable and measurable.
- Budget and manage overhead and promotional expenses for the region.
- Work with marketing team to ensure best practices are utilized and all engagement activities are within company guidelines.
