Great new opportunity! Our client is lookin for a large-scale cultivation manager who has knowledge and experience managing a large cultivation facility. An agriculture degree would be a big asset but not required.
They are in the beginning stages of constructing a 35,000 +SF facility with over 600 lights. However, they currently have multiple units which we would like a new hire to oversee while they build the new facility.
The Director of Cultivation is responsible for all aspects of the company's cultivation operation from propagation through to trimming. The Director of Cultivation possess oversight of all day-to-day activities of plant planning, cloning, watering, defoliating, transplanting, harvesting and trimming of all plant material. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring that the facility is safe and compliant with state and local regulations and all company policies and standard operating procedures are adhered to. Detailed record keeping and strict adherence to the company’s operating procedures and compliance with the state regulations is essential for this position. The Director of Cultivation also provides oversight for all new research and development regarding cannabis cultivation, equipment and tech. They will also ensure that all new employees are trained properly in all aspects of the cultivation production and company’s operating procedures.

Job Requirements:

Oversee fertigation schedules and make necessary adjustments accordingly
Accurate accounting in Metrics seed-to-sale tracking system
Continuous learning and staying up to date with new cultivation equipment and tech Accurately account for all analytics, yields and key performance indicators for production Promote Employee and Manager relations
Assess all facility needs such as equipment, supplies, or staff
Experience with cultivation in different media, specifically coco and rockwool Experience in the fundamentals of plant biology
Great communication and strong interpersonal skills
Knowledgeable and engaged in continued education
Self-directed with strong time management skills
Excellent in mathematics and reasoning skills
Quickly adapts to fast-paced environments and changing conditions
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree or higher in plant science, horticulture, agriculture or related field is preferred, but not required
Extensive walking, bending, kneeling and crouching Standing for long periods of time without sitting Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
Must be a Maine Resident
Must be at least 21+ years of age with a valid State ID
Must have personal transportation
Must be willing to conduct criminal background check and have no violent crime or controlled substance felonies
This position is a salary position with the starting pay at $80,000 per year. Individual evaluations will be conducted every six months and all individual and cultivation production goals will be reviewed. Compensation increases will be the decision of management at each review period.
