Vertosa is growing and our food-grade manufacturing facility needs a Director of Manufacturing to oversee Vertosa’s manufacturing division, ensuring effective and efficient use of facilities and staff. The successful candidate will develop strategy to optimize Vertosa's manufacturing unit at large, manage teams, implement systems needed to minimize error and bolster productivity, as well as provide training on risk mitigation, safety protocols, usage of new equipment, and industry best practices.
Oversee and participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of manufacturing employees.
Oversee schedules and assignments for the division.
Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Oversee the manufacture of products, ensuring production goals, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
Review production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery
Job Requirements:

Assist VP of Operations with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
Identify and share training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
Organize departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
Deliver progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
Supervise equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; Masters degree preferred.
Ten+ years experience in industrial management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the manufacturing division.
Ability to set long-term goals and communicate them to others.
Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.
Experience with inventory and/or lab ERPs implementation and maintenance.
Managed a production team of 5+ while hitting and maintaining desired production goals.
Must be a passionate champion for cannabis. Vertosa does not require cannabis consumption for any employees.
Self-starter and initiative taker, can work well on independent tasks and can take loosely structured goals and turn them into defined action items and deliverables
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to quickly traverse manufacturing areas.
Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, stretch, lay, and squat in order to maintain equipment.
