Job Description:

The Director, Engineering oversees the completion of all engineering and design requirements, as well as all regulatory and permitting requirements for projects within the Capital Projects group of Parallel. This role will drive and closely manage relationships with external firms retained as Architects, Engineers, or Consultants that are necessary to support the completion of those requirements (i.e., schematic designs, permitting applications). The Director, Engineering will also generate and maintain the Design Standards for the organization through Best Practices and Lessons Learned from the operating groups. In addition, investigation of new technologies, troubleshooting of existing facilities, and other systems engineering tasks are expected of this role. This role is with - Managing engineering activities on facility and retail construction projects to ensure scope of work compliance and quality objectives - Serving as an Engineering consultant on new facility projects at all sites - Coordinate all activities (where applicable) to ensure compliance to project standards, work scope objectives, and schedule milestones. - Lead and coordinate all engineering related reviews including Design Reviews, and Constructability Reviews; verifying architect and engineer designs meet project objectives and specifications - Ensuring overall technical integrity and safe design requirements are applied for quality and consistency - Coordinating with architects and engineers in responses to requests for information (RFIs), - Implementing and managing the project change process, including coordinating modifications with the architects and engineers. - Facilitating communication around management processes, exceptions, and project requirements, including those stated and implied

Job Requirements:

within executed contracts - Verifying risk mitigations and preventive/ corrective actions for material issues are timely and effective. Assist in the resolution of design issues. - Monitoring overall progress of engineering work, implementing corrective action where shortfalls in performance occur - Coordinating with architects and engineers to collect as-built documents, O&M manuals, contractor binders, or other closeout documentation - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field; Master's degree preferred - Professional Engineer certified in FL, TX, or GA, or ability to receive necessary state certification - Minimum 10 years of demonstrated progressive experience as a Project and/or Program Engineer within Industrial, Commercial and Manufacturing environments, etc. Strong experience in systems integration is a plus. - Detail-oriented with strong project and time management, organizational, leadership, interpersonal, team facilitation, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite - including MS Project, AutoCAD/REVIT, and Bluebeam) - Knowledge of advanced systems and construction concepts - Excellent analytical, problem solving, and written and oral communication and presentation skills with all levels throughout the organization - Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and assign priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment - Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically and tactically - Age 21 or over (Required) - High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) - Valid Government-Issued Photo ID (Required) - Are self-motivated; micro-managing isn't fun for anyone - Roll your sleeves up and do the work; strategy is important, but so is getting stuff done - Can work fast and be flexible; our industry is always changing - Play nice with others; we collaborate with each other a lot - Think creatively; som
