Job Description:

Our busy and fast-growing law firm on Oakland’s waterfront is seeking a new junior to mid-level litigation associate attorney. The firm’s practice focuses on representing businesses in California's booming legal cannabis industry in licensing, regulatory compliance, business transactions, litigations, and other matters. The firm's managing partner is a former partner at one of the nation's leading litigation firms, and leads the litigation practice. Interest in the cannabis industry is important to success in this position, but formal experience in the industry is not required. The new associate position will assist in the firm's representation of clients in a variety of commercial disputes, including partnership and investor controversies, real state disputes, and significant employment claims. The associate can expect immediate, substantial responsibility and, if successful, a path to partnership in the firm. The ideal candidate will have three to six years experience in sophisticated business litigation at a large law firm or a ltigation boutique. We value strong academic background but understand there is more than one route to being an excellent attorney.
