Job Description:

Provide supervision and leadership to Breeding Technicians.

Provide performance reviews and evaluation to direct reports.
-
Maintain safety protocols and a safe work environment.
-
Manage time cards, overtime and vacation scheduling.
-
Coordinate labor needs with Breeding Supervisors and Director.
-
Help with sample collection for genotyping and chemotyping projects.
-
Purchase, organize and maintain program supply inventory.
-
Assist with phenotypic data collection from field and greenhouse trials.
-
Continually improve and revise phenotyping protocols.
-
Collect and upload data from breeding and production trials, ensuring data accuracy.
-
Learn to navigate and use the breeding database.
-
Develop a thorough understanding of the morphology, biology and variation of Cannabis.
-
Understand basic breeding strategies and methods and how they apply to Cannabis.
-
BS degree in horticulture, agronomy, plant pathology or related discipline and demonstrated field experience.

Experience working with database applications and Microsoft office.

Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and time sensitive tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Capacity to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross functional departments.
-
Ability to work effectively in a changing and fast-moving environment.

Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Fluency in English (Competency in Spanish is preferred).
