Job Description:
Grassroots Cannabis is looking for a Security Associate who can become an integral part of our organization and grow with our company at our Greenhouse Morris location. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative and passionate, able to beat deadlines and find answers when it appears there are none.
Security Associates at our facilities are the face of our organization and the first people our visitors interact with. As such, our security officers must not only be focused on the security and protection of the facility and staff but also be comfortable setting the stage for a pleasant, compliant, and safe experience for our visitors. This position reports to the onsite manager as well as to the offsite Director of Security.
Job Requirements:
Interior and exterior patrols on foot and/or in a vehicle
Monitoring CCTV for suspicious/illegal activity
Access control for high-security areas within the facility
Check-in staff, visitors, and vendors while ensuring they are pre-approved by the state to enter the facility
Assist with state inspections
Receive and direct all incoming phone calls
Assist with general facility issues
Report writing (post-event & informational)
Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency responders at the direction of the Director of Security
Weather monitoring and emergency response
Ensure facility-wide compliance with all state and company rules, regulations, and policies
Monitoring and enforcement of overall safety and security procedures throughout the facility
Role Requirements
High school diploma or GED required, some college education preferred
2 years of security experience required
Experience with CCTV monitoring preferred
Minimum age requirement: 21
Ability to attain PERC card in Illinois
Candidates must be able to successfully pass a thorough internal and external background check including criminal history check by the IL State Police and FBI.
Able to obtain a Dispensary Organization Agent Registration Identification Card from the Illinois Department of Agriculture
Computer literate and comfortable learning and using new software
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds
Ability to fluently read and write the English language
Ability to follow directives issued verbally and in writing
Excellent organizational skills
Candidate must be a self-starter, flexible to work in a collaborative structure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
