Job Description:
PurePenn is looking for a passionate and professional individual to fill the role of Laboratory Technician. We are looking for an individual who will be working on a variety of laboratory/production tasks. This individual must be detail oriented, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to changing priorities and tasks as needed. Must be motivated and trustworthy. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for safely and effectively converting raw cannabis material into a variety of medicinal products.
Job Requirements:
Ensure extraction equipment runs properly and safely.
Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
Determine the priority level of appropriate tasks.
Follow OSHA guidelines to ensure safe working environment and equipment operation.
Ensure consistency of final product.
Fill extraction equipment with material in accordance with state regulations and company guidelines.
Follow all company and state guidelines for sanitary processing and disposal of cannabis.
Measure and record data throughout each process.
Operate standard lab equipment (i.e. scale, pipets, heat gun)
Carry out routine tasks accurately and following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures daily to confirm that the readings are within SOP guidelines
Ensure all equipment is accurately prepared for timely processing
Consistently monitor active equipment.
Perform general manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials.
Ensure concentrates are prepared and processed into final form.
Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures equipment daily to confirm that the readings are within SOP guidelines.
Utilize Excel and Word for reports.
Follow distillation guidelines
Other duties as needed.
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Must have effective time management skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of mathematic calculations
Be at least 18 years of age.
Computer skills
Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Biology/Chemistry background preferred
Lab experience preferred
Physical Activities and Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, along with frequent bending, ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required to work with hazardous chemicals and to wear appropriate PPE.
